THEME AND FOCUS

Early-Stage Infrastructure Investing in Nigeria Issues & Constraints and Opportunities

Rationale for EIF

Its estimated that Africa’s annual infrastructure investments needs are $108 billion per year, far beyond the reach of public sector financing alone.

With such significant investment needs, the role of the private sector in helping to close the financing gap is well established. However, the lack of a strong pipeline of well-prepared, bankable projects is widely recognized as one of the key constraints to unlocking private sector finance for infrastructure development in Africa

The Enabling Infrastructure Forum (EIF) is an Ecosystem Roundtable focused on the Opportunities, Issues and Constraints affecting Infrastructure Development & Investments in Africa

It would hold as a quarterly session.

At a high-level roundtable on #climatefinance, The World Bank Group President Ajay Banga  said: “The first thing is not just to raise money, but to raise the capacity of countries in terms of getting bankable projects and also the capacity to execute them. We need to find a way to support countries with knowledge.
