The Role
This role is Hybrid Role that is based in Ikeja, Lagos.
This role is expected to be in the office an average of at least three days a week, but with flexibility around the specifics of that schedule

Who We’re Looking For
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief of Staff will be responsible for ensuring extraordinary execution of the Office of the CEO. You will support the CEO and the executive management team in handling day-to-day responsibilities while keeping an eye on the big picture.
Main Aspects of the Job
You will establish trusted relationships across the organization in order to connect dots, identify challenges and opportunities, and support the CEO and your teammates in accomplishing their goals. You share knowledge and expertise when complex problems or challenges arise and you are able to collaborate across functions to address large, complex and often ambiguous organizational challenges.
You will support the CEO in strategic communications including developing meeting agendas, preparing presentations, and responding to emails on behalf of the CEO. You will participate in and/or lead high-stakes meetings, ensure proper followup and effectively manage relationships
You will own strategic projects of high importance to the CEO and the management team, such as high-profile events, Board meetings, and other priorities as they arrive. You will serve as the ultimate utility player for leadership and be a true force multiplier
You will supervise and work closely with the Executive Assistant to prioritize the right engagement and meetings for the CEO and ensure proper preparation for all internal and external CEO engagement opportunities
You will supervise the Human Resources and together, you will use your strategic guidance and leadership to cultivate an inclusive team environment that truly embodies The African Catalyst’s values.
You will partner with other team members to manage the office space, manage relationships with outside vendors when needed (e.g., legal support), maintain key documentation and policies (e.g., insurance) and generally support an effective organization

- Proven experience executing high-priority, cross-functional projects, with or without direct authority
- Highly organized, with ability to prioritize and execute against multiple priorities on tight deadlines
- Top-notch critical thinking and analytical skills; can break down complex problems into discrete digestible pieces and drive effective solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with ambiguity and has ability to get work done without always having complete information
- At least 4-6 years of professional experience, ideally in capacity building leadership, programme management, management consulting, startups and/or other fast-paced, rapidly changing environments
- Ability to draw best practices from a variety of professional contexts (private, non-profit, government)
- Experience with HR/People leadership and projects including change management initiatives.
- Ability to understand and interpret the multiple complexities of the evolving youth apprenticeship movement
This is a 6 month contract payroll is currently priced at a minimum of N400,000 but depending on the skill set, experience and clear understanding of the role this can be increased
