EPISODE 5.0

DE-RISKING HEALTHCARE INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS: BUILDING BANKABLE PIPELINES FOR AFRICA’S HEALTH SYSTEM

  • The webinar aims to unpack the components that make healthcare infrastructure projects bankable and demonstrate practical pathways for sponsors, developers, and investors to structure viable healthcare projects.

  • Discussions will emphasize how early-stage investment readiness frameworks can enhance project bankability, governance, and sustainability from concept to commissioning.

  • The session will convene key stakeholders from the public and private sectors to discuss how early de-risking, structured financing, and governance mechanisms can accelerate the flow of capital into healthcare infrastructure across the continent.
Objective
  • Across Africa, healthcare infrastructure faces a widening investment gap driven by inadequate project preparation, weak feasibility frameworks, and unclear revenue models. While the demand for quality healthcare facilities continues to grow, the capacity to translate healthcare needs into bankable investment opportunities remains limited.
  • Governments, development finance institutions (DFIs), and private investors increasingly recognize that achieving universal health coverage and resilient health systems requires well-structured, financially viable healthcare infrastructure projects.
  • Early-stage project preparation and investment readiness are therefore crucial to ensure that projects are technically sound, commercially viable, and attractive to financiers. As part of its commitment to strengthening Africa’s project preparation ecosystem, The African Catalyst is organizing a Webinar as a pre-event to its flagship programme “Early-Stage Investment Readiness for Healthcare Infrastructure Projects”.
